Confessional Lutheranism is rare in our days. The Synods which claim to be loyal to the Lutheran Confessions contradict them in in their official doctrinal statements and in the theology and practices tolerated among their member pastors and congregations.
Where there are pastors and congregations in the Lutheran synods who desire to remain faithful to Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions, their synodical membership means they publicly confess the false doctrines of their synod. It also means they are in communion with those who teach and practice falsehood and error. Despite the confession of their lips against such ungodly things, their synodical membership confesses that they, too, tolerate such things.
To those who see the errors of their synod, mourn them, and wish to confess the faith correctly and clearly, we humbly offer a better way. The Confessional Lutheran Ministerium is a fellowship of ordained Lutheran ministers who carry out the Office of the Holy Ministry in harmony with Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions.
